Three artistic associations join their forces to support musicians in need!

Creation of the Fonds Jean-Carignan: Timely aid for musicians in need

Montreal, October 12, 2011 - La Guilde des musiciens et musiciennes du Québec (GMMQ) is establishing a new fund to support musicians in need. Called the Fonds Jean-Carignan in honour of the celebrated violinist who died on February 16, 1988, the fund will provide timely aid for musicians who are experiencing financial and social difficulties.

Montreal, September 30, 2011 - The Forum @LON, held on 28 and 29 September in Quebec City and which Mylène Cyr, executive director of the GMMQ participated and was attended by about 80 people. Robert Charlebois et Oscar E. Peterson Honored

Montreal, September 26, 2011 - The Quebec Musicians' Guild would like to emphasize the distinction received by Robert Charlebois, a member of the GMMQ and Oscar E. Peterson, an internationally recognized jazz pianist and an honorary member of the GMMQ died in 2007 from the Ministry of Culture, Communications and the Status of Women.

Teaching income : contribute to your Musicians’ Pension Fund of Canada

Since September 1st, 2011, Members of the Québec Musician’s Guild can now use their private music teaching income to contribute to the Musicians’ Pension Fund of Canada.
